Thomas Lam, aka Writelikedance (字舞), has dedicated his career in Chinese calligraphy for more than 15 years. He would like to introduce this traditional Chinese culture in a modern and stylish way.
He is not only focusing in writing Chinese calligraphy, but also launched calligraphy class and collaborate with tattoo artists for tattoo-design with Chinese paint brush element.

The Paint brush is manufactured by a brand Lam Sam Yick in Taiwan, they have started to made Chinese paint brush since 1917.
I advocate styles of calligraphy studies namely LiShu, KaiShu, XingShu, and CaoShu. I will be teaching step-by-step and from the basic understanding of KaiShu art which is the standard script. Enriched with some of my personal insights and characters, I would teach in a fun and systematic way for beginners to master the basics skill and to be in love with Chinese calligraphy.
During the online class, I will demostrate all the Chinese characters’ basic strokes and their common structures. In this website, a lot of ancient master’s artworks are available for download, you could practise different script according to your preference.
So why is Kaishu suitable for beginners?
There are several principles for writing the strokes and the structures of Kaishu. Beginners will find it extremely easy to follow by practicing.
There are some choices of famous Kaishu masters and their artworks could be easily found on the Internet.
